An electro-mechanical rotating machine engineered to convert three-phase alternating current (AC) electrical energy into high-torque mechanical power. It operates through three stationary stator windings spaced 120 electrical degrees apart, which, when energized by phase-shifted AC voltage, generate a continuous, self-starting rotating magnetic field. This dynamic field induces secondary currents and opposing electromagnetic forces within the internal rotor (typically a squirrel-cage or wound assembly), driving the rotor shaft to turn and deliver steady mechanical work to heavy industrial loads—such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, and machine tools—with high operating efficiency and smooth torque production.
